Vitromusée Romont
The Vitromusée Romont opened in 1981 in Romont Castle. This medieval monument provides a time-honoured setting for the Swiss Museum of Stained Glass and Glass Arts. The Vitromusée Romont is entirely focused on the glass arts and harbours significant collections in the fields of stained glass, reverse glass painting, glass and graphic arts, as well as tools and materials linked to the production of Swiss glass works. With over 17’000 objects, all aspects of glass arts from antiquity to the present are represented, making it a unique place in Switzerland. The Vitromusée Romont is committed to fostering a lively culture and develops innovative cultural education programs at the interface of knowledge transfer, creative experience and exchange. It thereby advocates for conserving the history of an extraordinarily rich cultural heritage while also sharing it with a diverse public.
